10 Ways To Start Your Day Off Right

Bonjour mes amies! The summer is coming to a close, and I’m definitely going to miss the weather, the long days, and all the free time. But… I’d be lying if I wasn’t somewhat ready to go back to school. I enjoy seeing my friends each day and learning all sorts of new things if only there wasn’t so much stress and testing.

I thought this would be a great post for back to school because I know that sometimes starting school again is accompanied by anxiety and worry, and these little tricks can help alleviate some of that concern. Even if you aren’t going back to school and you are already a working bee, who doesn’t want to start their day off better? By doing a few simple things each morning, you can drastically improve your day and your mindset.

Now on to the post with this cute little graphic I made and some elaboration down below…

  1. Drink a glass of water/ tea

Starting your day off right begins with what you put in your body. I love drinking something refreshing like tea or water because it makes me feel rejuvenated and awake. I know that if I started my day off healthy, I might as well keep eating clean and wholesome throughout the day.

2. Play some upbeat music

If you make up on the wrong side of the bed (it’s bound to happen to all of us), one way to change your mood is to play something happy and upbeat.

3. Go for a run/bike/walk

I only recently started working out early in the morning, and I actually love how energized and motivated it makes me for the rest of the day. Admittedly, it can be pure agony to force myself out of bed, but once I’ve started my day with something productive and healthy, it is easy to keep that energy flowing.

4. Eat a healthy breakfast

Avocado toast, blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit smoothies… the rest is self-explanatory.

5. Talk to someone you love

Instead of immediately grabbing for your phone for the comfort of mindlessly scrolling through your Instagram feed (I do it too), I find myself so much happier when I get up to say hello to my family members or text a friend.

6. Wash your face

This is an actual lifehack. Anytime you are feeling super lazy and unmotivated, the simple act of washing your face is a reset button. Something about taking a brief moment to engage in an act of self-care is super refreshing and reenergizing.

7. Write in a journal

If you wake up and your mind is already buzzing with your to-do list, it can be super helpful to take a deep breath and write down a few things in your journal. Whether that be something you are grateful for or your dreams from the night before, it is a great way to start your day.

8. Open your windows

Letting in fresh air and sunlight= instant mood booster.

9. Stretch

Get the blood flowing through your body and wake up with a nice stretch. There are countless (free!!!) YouTube videos with stretch routines that only last a few minutes.

10. Set at least one goal

Write down at least one thing that you want to accomplish each day. It can be as productive as writing a blog post or as simple as complimenting more people.

Example: Today, I want to do a little photo shoot for my blog…

  1. Loved this post, it was a great list! I actually go to bed with my blinds a little bit open, because as soon as the sun’s up I get it shining into my bedroom and it’s great, and starting the day with music is a must for me! xx

  2. are these photos of you? you’re a freaking style icon! I love all of these tips – I have to admit, while it is a struggle, making better decisions in the morning (like eating healthily and getting some exercise) MASSIVELY motivates me to keep being “good” throughout the day. Love your graphics, as always, too! Great post x
