July Journal

Bonjour mes amies! Woah I’ve got TWO exciting announcements! First, it was my blogiversary on July 31st. I’ve officially had this blog for one year, and I’ve loved every minute of it. Second, I’m going to be a published author! I entered a short story contest and my book was selected to be in the final publication. I am invited to a book release party and everything! I think all the writing I’ve done for my blog seriously helped me write in the story on such short notice (the contest was open for four months and I found out about it four days before the cut-off). So you guys can all take a little credit for the story being published!

Anyways, since it is the beginning of August, I decided to do another journal post (see my June Journal here) because the last one was super fun to write. July was one of the most exciting and crazy months of my life, and I’m kind of sad to see the month go but I hope August brings new adventures and experiences. So if you weren’t around for the last monthly journal (Hey new followers!), I basically just write a few verbs then fill in the rest of the sentence with how things are going. I hope you enjoy!

☆ Thinking- about everything I’m grateful for. For the food on my plate, for the safety of my home, for the health of my family, and for my lovely blog followers!

☆ Reading- no books right now. Probably because I read so many last month. I’m still reading quite a few blogs and magazines, however.

☆ Loving- some artsy new Instagram accounts that I found. I discovered a few really cool accounts then I kept looking at who they tagged. I just kept clicking and clicking until I realized I was very deep into social media. Does that ever happen to you guys?

☆ Eating- a strawberry lemonade popsicle out on my deck. The sun is just starting to set, and I can see soft pinks and oranges blending into the blue.

☆ Listening- to you should see me in a crown by Billie Eilish, Drake’s new album, and 20 Something by SZA.

☆ Touching- my blue and white Anthropologie mug. I will drink anything out of a mug.

☆ Feeling- relaxed. Every flower in my yard is blooming and there is a soft summer breeze. I love writing blog posts outside.

☆ Hoping- to get my college apps done before heading back to school.

☆ Watching- lots of youtube specifically Margot Lee and Emma Chamberlain. I’ve also been loving thrifting videos, especially ones where the thrifted clothing is transformed into something new and unique.

☆ Missing- my friends from summer camp.

☆ Pinning- lots of art. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with this certain style of art that’s very colorful, playful, and minimal. I will attach some lovely artists and their work down below. (Also my Pinterest account somehow got deactivated. I’m in the process of creating a new one, but I’m really sad that I have to start over. I’ll let you all know the new account after I recreate some of my old boards.)

Alja Horvat

Helo Birdie

Don’t you just love the colors that these artists incorporate?

I hope you all enjoyed this July Journal. I really like this conversational style of post, and I think I’ll make it a series. Thanks for reading and see you all next time!
